15 Weird Cars You Won’t Believe Are Real

1. BMW Isetta

The egg-shaped BMW Isetta is one of the most unusual cars in automobile history. In addition to the odd shape, it has only one door, which is the entire front of the vehicle. Therefore, the steering wheel and dashboard swing open with the door.

It might sound like a nightmare of a car to someone in 2022, but in 1956, the BMW Isetta was a massive hit with drivers. It was even one of the top-selling cars on the market. A mint-conditioned Isetta would still sell for a huge price today.

2. Firebird XP-21

Inspired by aviation, the General Motors 1953 Firebird XP-21 looks like a fighter jet made for the roads. It is the first in a series of concept cars to display GM’s limitless capabilities. Even the company knew it was an impractical car that boasted a fiberglass bullet-shaped fuselage, a vertical tail fin, a single-seat cockpit, and wings.

With just two speeds, only a handful of people could drive the delicate XP-21. Later, it was renamed Firebird I after the debut of three more Firebird concept cars.

3. Amphicar

For boat lovers and car collectors, the 1961 Amphicar seemed like a dream come true. Unfortunately, it disappointed both groups of people. Half car and half boat, the Amchicar could drive on land or sail in the water.

Unlike other cars, the Coast Guard required it to have a flag and navigation lights. Despite the cool concept, it was an utter failure as both a car and a boat. After making its highly anticipated debut at the 1961 New York Auto Show, the Amphicar ceased production by 1965.

4. DMC DeLorean

Drivers complained about the poor performance as the sports car could only go from 0 to 60 mph in 10.5 seconds. Plus, there were issues with the clutch pedal, alternators, and front suspension.

Despite the poor quality and terrible driving experience, the DeLorean became an iconic car as the time machine in the Back to the Future trilogy. However, it didn’t feature in the movies until after the Delorean Company ceased production.

5. Peel P50

The company removed the front trunk and moved the front seats up. That allowed them to put an extra row of seats in the back. Despite the added weight, the cramped four-door Multipla retains the same 0.6-liter four-cylinder engine with 21 horsepower. With the odd design, Fiat produced the car from 1956 to 1967.

10. Reliant Robin

In the early 70s, one of England’s most unique creations flew down the freeway and highways. The Reliant Robin is best known for having three wheels. It might seem an odd choice in this day and age, but it was a huge hit back then, with the Reliant Robin, not just a cool marketing slogan.

Therefore Sunrise Auto decided to make a three-wheeled car to join the other vehicles on the busy roads of Mumbai and Amritsar.

While hyped as the next big thing, most people felt it was just a rickshaw with doors. Sunrise Auto didn’t anticipate the public rejecting the car partly due to the odd design. The company tried launching a four-wheel Badal, but that failed as well. The Sipani Badal will go down in history as one of the most unusual cars.

Hitting the roads in the late 1930s, the Stout Scarab has one of the most interesting designs. It was not a hit with the public when it first came out. Resembling a futuristic streamliner, the drivers rejected the Scarab for its ugly appearance.

Designer William Stout sought to create a vehicle of the future, but it didn’t quite turn out that way. It was unpopular and considered too expensive at $5,000. However, people began to appreciate the Scarab’s slick curves and design over time. It boasts an impressive V8 engine with a removable table and the second row of seats that turn 180 degrees to face the other row.

13. Messerschmitt KR200

His main goal was to compete with the Chevrolet Corvette with this flashy two-seater. However, the car never went into production after the prototype debuted. The XNR has had many owners over the years and traveled the world until selling for $935,000 in 2012.

The Top 20 Best Fast and Furious Cars Franchise https://nextluxury.com/cars-rides/fast-and-furious-cars/ Mon, 20 Jun 2022 21:00:39 +0000 https://nextluxury.com/?p=254943 …]]> One of the best Hollywood film franchises ever created is Fast and Furious. This series is known for delivering on its premise and giving fans what they want: fast cars and furious action. Each movie features some of the best vehicles ever designed and manufactured. The Fast and Furious cars seen throughout the franchise are out of this world and vehicles most of us can only dream of ever driving.

Although the movie plots tend to be fairly predictable, no one knows what death-defying stunts will be shown or what cars will feature in these stunts, which makes these movies must watch. Without the cars, the Fast and Furious franchise wouldn’t be nearly as attention-worthy. Let’s face it, the actors play their part (Vin Diesel, The Rock, and Jason Statham, to name three), but it’s the cars that steal the show.

Since there are so many amazing cars that have been featured in these movies over the past 20 years, it is incredibly challenging to narrow down the best of the best. Yet, we have somehow managed to do just that. While we might have missed out on a few of your favorites, such as the Mazda RX 7 from The Fast and the Furious and the Aston Martin DB9 driven by Owen Shaw in Furious 7, we think the list we’ve assembled is pretty tight.

So here are our picks for the 20 best cars from the Fast and Furious franchise.

1. 1970 Dodge Charger

Our list wouldn’t mean much if we didn’t include Dominic Torreto’s 1970 Dodge Charger. This American muscle car is at the heart of the series and arguably the most iconic car driven by Torreto. Much of Torreto’s character is based around him owning this muscle car and the history of what it represents to him and his father.

Dom’s Charger is a fan favorite and, as such, is featured in The Fast and the Furious, Fast and Furious, Fast Five, and Furious 7.

The 1970 Dodge Charger featured in the first film is equipped with a custom engine that can reach an incredible horsepower rating of 900. Under the hood, there is a pro-built 528 cubic inch Chrysler Hemi engine with aluminum Indy competition cylinder heads.

Perhaps its most distinguishable feature is its electronic fuel injection, Wilwood four-wheel disc brakes, and NOS HP plate nitrous injection system. In addition to these exemplary features, the 1970 Dodge Charger can race the quarter-mile in less than nine seconds.

2. Toyota Supra

If you’re a car enthusiast you know all about this beast from the Fast Furious franchise. One of the most recognizable tuner cars from the series is Brian O’Conner’s bright orange Toyota Supra. In The Fast and the Furious, O’Conner brings the car back to life in Dominic Toretto’s garage, and this action plays an integral role in building a bond between the two main characters. The Supra even pops up in Fast Five and is driven by Roman Pierce (Tyrese Gibson) along with a lot of the crew while practicing driving for the bank heist.

The car proves its worth and solidifies its legendary status when seen racing and beating a Ferrari F355 Spider on its maiden drive. It’s believed that the original Toyota Supra Mk-IV, which is equipped with the 2JZ engine, could produce a horsepower rating of 540.

Interestingly this car could reach 62 mph in just 4.3 seconds and its top speed could reach 186 mph when the NOS system was equipped.

3. Acura NSX

The Honda Acura NSX is iconically driven by Dominic Toretto’s sister Mia in Fast and Furious and Fast Five. This vehicle is rear-wheel-drive with a six-speed manual transmission that has stylish red leather seats.

Fans fell in love with the Honda Acura NSX when it appeared as one of the vehicles rescuing Dom after being sentenced to 25 years in prison during the Fast and Furious movie. Curiously, the Honda Acura NSX’s stock configuration is powered by an impressive C32B V-6 engine capable of producing a horsepower rating of 290. What many people don’t know is that the Honda Acura NSXs used for the film are heavily modified. They are equipped with NSX-R suspension and other upgrades that boosted its horsepower rating further.

4. Pontiac Fiero

In the latest installment of the franchise, it can be said that the modified Pontiac Fiero steals the show. Although this classic car is not everyone’s cup of tea, it plays a significant role in the latest film. In fact, the 1984 Pontiac Fiero jet car is seen in one of the most heartwarming scenes during Fast 9

It is up to Roman and Tej to save the world when they have to use the Pontiac Fiero to drive into a satellite set to destroy the earth with nothing but their car. Taj and Roman are prepared to sacrifice themselves during this scene which is why it’s memorable.

However, many think the Pontiac Fiero is the most ridiculous car to be featured in one of the films of this franchise, but we’re of the opposite opinion. Although this vehicle is essentially a rocket with a classic car body attached to it, it’s still worthy of attention because of its uniqueness.

5. Nissan Skyline 2000 GT-R

Did you know that the Nissan Skyline 2000 GT-R is the first skyline model to bear the GT-R badge? It’s no wonder this classic muscle car found its way into the Fast and Furious franchise.

Ironically, this car is driven by Brian after the memorable scene where he and Mia rescue Dom while he’s being taken to prison. Although the vehicle makes only a minor appearance during the Fast Five movie, it deserves to be on our list because due to its performance specifications.

This muscle car has a 2.0-liter DOHC straight-six engine which allows it to produce a horsepower rating of 160. Yet, the film’s version features a twin-cam 2.0-liter inline-six engine with rear drive. Additionally, this car has a 0 to 62 mph acceleration time of 3.8 seconds and can reach a top speed of more than 203 mph.

6. Honda S2000

Are you aware the Honda S2000 featured in The Fast and the Furious movie is rented from R.J. Vera, who played Danny Yamato? It is driven by Rick Yune who played baddie Johnny Tran in the film. This same car was purchased by David Marder for the film 2 Fast 2 Furious and repurposed for the character Suki.

Suki drives the bright pink Honda S2000 during a race hosted by Tej. For much of the scene, the Honda S2000 is in last place but manages to pull off a miracle during a jump scene that sees the vehicle coming in first.

The Honda S2000 features a set of custom hot pink vinyl. It is equipped with a 2.2-liter aluminum alloy DOHC inline 4 engine and has a Comptech supercharger. It can reach 174 mph and has a maximum horsepower output of 237.

7. Buick Grand National

Tony Savino/Shutterstock

The Buick Grand National features in the fourth Fast and Furious movie and is a custom build. This vehicle has a fully reversed drive train, which is why it could pull off the tanker truck scene so effortlessly.

During this scene, Dom can be seen driving the Buick Grand National in reverse while maintaining a high speed. He continues driving in reverse until the dramatic explosion at the end. Even though the vehicle looks normal on the outside, it is different on the inside from other Buick Grand Nationals.

The Buick Grand National seen in the film has its engine situated in the vehicle’s trunk, with the rear axle moved to under the hood by using custom tubed subframes. The modifications don’t end there. A new wheel and pedal were also installed for a stunt driver in the rear seat area.

The Ford GT40 replica from the film was auctioned in 2016. It is a right-hand drive and features the signature Guardsman Blue and Wimbledon White exterior that car enthusiasts know and love. Additionally, this car is built on a custom chassis and has body panels made out of fiberglass.

The vehicle’s power made it a prominent focal point during the movie. It is equipped with a Ford 4.7 liter V8 engine that can deliver 540 horsepower. It has a five-speed manual transmission and can reach a top speed of approximately 164 mph.

One of the most memorable cars from The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift is the 1967 Ford Mustang. Yet, were you aware that the 1967 Ford Mustang models in the Justin Lin directed Tokyo Drift were built using 1968 models?

This car is famous because of the scene where Sean Boswell (Lucas Black) drives it during his race with Takashi down a mountain he has never been beaten on. There are multiple close calls during this scene, but Sean manages to secure victory with the Mustang while Takashi doesn’t fare as well.

Another interesting aspect of the 1967 models is that it took the film’s production team an estimated two months to fit Nissan Skyline GT-R engines into them. Perhaps one of the most impressive things to note about the 1967 Ford Mustangs used in this film is that each of them survived without being destroyed during filming.

Moreover, it’s believed that five of the six 1967 Ford Mustangs used during the film were sold to buyers in California. These models had quite a few upgrades, including a rear roll cage, seven-spoke wheels, racing seats, and a front-mounted intercooler.

In Fast 9, the 2020 Jeep Gladiator plays a prominent role in the movie. It is well known for being one of the most capable mid-size trucks globally, and it got promoted to one of the most iconic cars in the world after it became one of the Fast Furious movie cars.

Tej Parker drives this vehicle during the scene where he and Ramsey flee the crash site of Mr. Nobody after they are ambushed by the military, who were guarding the area. Fans are on the very edges of their seats while the Jeep Gladiator is driven through a field of landmines where it could not be driven more than 80 mph.

Interestingly, the 2020 Jeep Gladiator would not have been able to drive much faster than it did during this scene because it has a top speed of 97 mph.

One of the greatest hero cars from the Fast and Furious franchise is the 1965 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray. This vehicle won the 2013 OPTIMA Ultimate Street Car Invitational. Only seven cars in the entire world have ever held this title. That’s why it’s unsurprising that this vehicle made its way into The Fate of the Furious

This car features in the movie after fans find out that Dom betrayed his own team. Letty Ortiz (Michelle Rodriguez) picks out the 1965 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray, and the movie shows that modifications are being done to it. The car is then seen again during the major New York chase scene during the movie.

The 1965 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray featured in this movie is equipped with a 6.4-liter engine with a maximum horsepower rating of 250 at 4,400 rpm. It is able to reach a fairly impressive top speed of 125 mph.

According to many fans, the Toyota GR Supra featured in Fast 9 is a homage to Paul Walker’s car in the first film. The Toyota GR Supra is decked out in bright orange and is driven by Han in one of the film’s best action scenes.

During the scene where the team equips huge electromagnets to their vehicles, the Toyota GR Supra can clearly be seen doing a nifty handbrake turn before reversing at high speeds to hook onto an armored truck.

The Toyota GR Supra is equipped with a 3.0-liter turbocharged engine that is capable of producing a horsepower rating of 258 at 5,000 rpm. Additionally, this vehicle has a top speed of 155 mph and can accelerate to 60 mph in only 3.9 seconds.

Although the 1973 Chevrolet Camaro only plays a minor role in the Fast and Furious movie, it makes an impact. This classic muscle car is driven by one of the bad guy’s men and used to chase Brian and Dom.

During the scene, Dom jumps into the Camaro from his Charger and uses it to escape from the tunnel and kill Fenix Calderon when he rams the car into him. The scene is all about getting justice for Letty, which is likely why it’s seen as one of the best cars from the franchise.

The 1973 Chevrolet Camaro is an F-bomb impersonater because of how rare the original 1973 Chevrolet Camaro is. Unlike the original Camaro F-bomb that was equipped with a twin-turbocharged 1500 horsepower V8 engine, the impersonator vehicle used during this scene has a GM 300 horsepower crate engine.

Who can forget the infamous plane drop scene during Furious 7 where Tej is seen in an armored Jeep Wrangler Unlimited JK dropping out of a plane alongside a few others in Dom’s crew?

The armored Jeep Wrangler unlimited JK seen in the movie received many modifications that allowed it to achieve death-defying stunts while also achieving top speeds not usually seen with this vehicle model.

The Jeep Wrangler Unlimited JK is a four-wheel-drive beast of a car that features a 3.6-liter V6 engine that can produce a horsepower rating of 285 at 6,400 rpm. It has an estimated top speed of 112 mph which is impressive when considering that it has a curb weight of 4,277 pounds.

It’s unlikely anyone can forget the Kawasaki green 1995 Mitsubishi Eclipse tuner car that had a minor yet significant appearance in the original The Fast and the Furious film. The 1995 Mitsubishi Eclipse is actually a customized car manufactured by Diamond Star Motors and Mitsubishi motors.

This race car is driven by Brian O’Conner during his preparation for his first-ever street race. Despite being unable to keep the car from spinning out of control, he still decides to race it to try and win the favor of Dominic Toretto. After the scene, O’Connor manages to win the street race, but he still loses control of the vehicle.

Besides its attractive exterior appearance, its performance specifications and capabilities allow this vehicle to make it onto our list. The 1995 Mitsubishi Eclipse has a 420a 16 valve dual overhead cam 2.0-liter 4 cylinder engine. This engine is capable of producing a horsepower rating of 165.

Interestingly, this model has a 75 hp nitrous oxide system that was never fully installed, a custom carbon fiber front splitter, a custom GT style roof scoop, green neon lighting, and 1997 spec eclipse headlights.

Did you know the Ford Escort seen in Fast and Furious 6 had to be sourced and built-in Britain? This is because the American models were only manufactured as front-wheel-drive cars. These stunt cars were turned into 1972 RS1600 replicas.

This car might make a minor appearance in the film, but it is definitely memorable. The Ford Escort is seen completing a successful jump scene with Brian O’Connor at the steering wheel. During this scene, O’Connor uses the Ford Escort’s rally-spec suspension.

For this film, there were five Escorts assembled. Some feature 2.0-liter Vauxhall Redtop engines, while others have a 1.6-liter Ford Kent engine with DOHC Cosworth heads and double Weber carbs.

The hero car in Furious 7 is undoubtedly the 2014 W Motors Lykan Hypersport. This vehicle is the first hypercar produced by W Motors and is the most expensive car featured in the Fast and Furious franchise. There are only seven Lycan Hypersort’s ever made.

Dom infamously drives this hypercar through a building in Abu Dhabi while Brian tries to remove a chip that the crew needs. During this epic scene, Dom drives the 2014 W Motors Lykan Hypersport through a penthouse window.

There were 10 replicas of this car built for the movie, and by the end of filming, only one survived. Astonishingly the 2014 W Motors Lykan Hypersportias is able to reach 0 to 60 in less than three seconds.

During 2 Fast 2 Furious the 1969 Camaro Yenko is one of the most memorable cars to feature in the film. As with many other vehicles used in this film franchise, the Camaro Yenko is a replica of the original.

As a tribute to the late Paul Walker who drove this vehicle, the Camaro Yenko was donated to the “Paul Walker Charity ROWW.”

In 2 Fast 2 Furious, Brian wins the Camaro Yenko after challenging two bad guys to a race between himself and Rome. He then uses this vehicle as a getaway car to escape the notice of the local police when they went to retrieve Verone’s money.

It’s believed that the Camaro Yenko featured in this film is equipped with a 427 V8 engine capable of producing a horsepower rating of 425.

The Dodge Challenger SRT-8 is driven by Dominic Torreto during Fast Five and Fast and Furious 6. In Fast Five, the Dodge Challenger SRT-8 isn’t used in any major action scenes, but Dom does race Brian with this vehicle.

In Fast and the Furious 6, Dom races his Dodge Challenger SRT-8 as fast as possible so as not to miss the birth of his sister and Brians’s child. Later in the same film, he drives this vehicle to deliver the news that Letty is still alive.

The Dodge Challenger SRT-8 is incredibly powerful and able to perform well during films because of its 6.4 V8 engine. These models have a top speed of 180 mph and a maximum horsepower rating of 470.

The 1968 Dodge Charger, also known as the “Hellacious Dodge Charger,” is not driven by one Toretto brother but two during Fast 9. Not many people are aware that Speedkore modified this vehicle, and unlike Dom’s other Chargers, this one has its engine centered in the middle.

The fan’s first glimpse of the 1968 Dodge Charger in the latest installment of the film franchise is seen when Dom is hunting the second half of Project Aries, but his brother Jakob beats him to it.

Yet, the more memorable scene where this vehicle is a primary focus is during the magnet scene when Dom uses the Charger to take out other vehicles and save his brother’s life. Interestingly, it isn’t until the end of the movie that Jakob (John Cena) drives the Charger when Dom gives it to him so that he can go into hiding.

The 1968 Dodge Charger is equipped with a cast-iron water-cooled V8 engine with a horsepower rating of up to 425 at 5,000 rpm. Additionally, this muscle car had a top speed of approximately 136 mph. This might be the coolest car in the series.

Once only driven by the rich and famous, many have become more affordable for the everyday guy who wants to drive something that stands out. Luxury car brands have changed with the times too. They have evolved to cater to all manner of car lovers.

These brands are building cars that our revhead grandfathers could only imagine existed back in their day. From sports cars to SUVs, modern cars are incorporating new technology to create vehicles offering the ultimate driving experience. As well as sophisticated engines and luxurious interiors, many of these cars are also electric, ushering in a whole new era of automobiles.

Luxury car brands offer an exhilarating driving experience of the highest performance while making you feel like you are driving around in style. With the global vehicle industry set to hit $665 billion by 2027, it seems there is no stopping the heights luxury cars will reach.

So, if you are thinking about getting in on the market, here are 15 of the best luxury car brands you can choose from.

1. BMW

BMW

ilikeyellow/Shutterstock

Bayerische Motoren Werke, more commonly known as BMW, is one of the leaders when it comes to luxury car brands. Originally founded as a manufacturer of aircraft engines in 1916, the company soon turned its attention to automobiles. This turned out to be a very good decision.

For over 100 years the German company has been at the forefront of luxurious and advanced motoring. One of the best-known carmakers in the world, BMW produces a range of different vehicles, such as sedans, wagons, SUVs, and hatchbacks, for all types of people. When it comes to power you can’t look past the M3 or M4 models, while the selection of BMW i models cater to those wanting a hybrid. The BMW X3 is also a great SUV for anyone who likes ultra luxury cars to go off-road driving in.

2. Land Rover

Land Rover

Valdis Skudre/Shutterstock

Nothing says prestige like Land Rover. The British luxury car brand is all about luxurious SUVs that not only look incredible but are high performance. While the classic box shape is no longer favored, the new models are still top-notch and have a European flair to them.

Not content with just creating off-road 4x4s (the Defender) or mid-sized SUVs for soccer moms (the Discovery), Land Rover is also developing new technologies for their models. This includes a new air purification air conditioning system unlike anything else on the market. And, like all good luxury car brands, Land Rover plans to go electric, gearing up to release its first hybrid car in 2024.

3. Porsche

Porsche

The Porsche 911 is arguably the most famous sports car in the world. The flagship of the company has been front and center since it came off the production line in 1964. Although the original two-door model was last sold in 1989, there has been a further seven variations of the popular car released over the years, with the most recent being the 992 that debuted in 2019.

Besides the 911, Porsche has a great range of models, including the sporty Boxster and SUV crossover the Macan. Lately, Porsche has been focusing its attention on producing a high-quality electric car, with the Taycan rivaling Elon Musk’s Tesla when it comes to sleek-looking electric cars worth investing in. Porsche is easily one of the top luxury car brands on the market.

4. Aston Martin

Aston Martin

Jordan Tan/Shutterstock

When it comes to British luxury car brands, they don’t get more legendary than Aston Martin. While first known for producing grand touring cars in the 50s and 60s, it was the company’s association with the James Bond franchise that made it a global name. The Aston Martin DB5 first shows up in the classic Bond flick Goldfinger and instantly became an iconic movie vehicle. It has featured in eight Bond films (Goldfinger, Thunderball, GoldenEye, Tomorrow Never Dies, Casino Royale, Skyfall, Spectre, and No Time To Die), with the exposure helping boost the carmaker’s sales.

While the DB5 is no longer in production, its most recent predecessor, the DB11, is a fantastic automobile with an aerodynamic body capable of producing 600 horsepower. Aston Martin is also producing the Valkyrie in collaboration with Red Bull Racing. This limited hybrid supercar comes with a 6.5-liter naturally-aspirated V12 engine, which just so happens to be the most powerful naturally-aspirated engine ever fitted to a production road car.

5. Mercedes-Benz

Mercedes-Benz

Walter Eric Sy/Shutterstock

If there is one thing the Germans know how to do well it’s build cars. Especially luxury cars. Take Mercedes-Benz for instance. This company deals especially in the luxury car market and was rightly the number one selling automobile manufacturer of luxury cars in 2018. The company sold a whopping 2.3 million cars that year. There is a host of contemporary models on offer from Mercedes, from the box-shaped luxury G-Class (also known as the G-Wagon) to the AMG GT sports car with its 4.0-liter turbo engine V8.

Mercedes-Benz has also dipped its feet into the electric vehicle market with its EQ range. These electric-powered cars are available as sedans, SUVs, and even a mini-van. While they might not be gas guzzlers, this doesn’t mean Mercedes has cut back on the luxury amenities. These cars contain all the gadgets and exquisite leather interiors of other models.

6. Lamborghini

Lamborghini

Nothing screams luxury car brand like Lamborghini. The Italian giant has been consistently delivering high-performance vehicles that look as good as they drive for decades. Some of the brand’s most well known luxury automobiles came from the mind of founder Ferruccio Lamborghini, including the Miura, Diablo, and of course, the Countach. While these famous vehicles are no longer part of the current crop of Lambos, they showcase the history of this iconic brand and tie in with the new range of cars on offer.

While they have always been known for building fast cars, Lamborghini has made big strides on the tech side of things. They’ve introduced new navigation systems into their cars and have incorporated Amazon’s Alexa to help with voice controls. While small things, they add to the luxurious nature of models produced by Lamborghini.

7. Bugatti

Bugatti

Mike Mareen/Shutterstock

Bugatti is such a famous luxury brand that electronic dance artist Tiga made a song named after the car. It’s actually surprising the Bugatti name lives on. Founded by Ettore Bugatti in 1909, the company went belly up in 1963. Thankfully Italian entrepreneur Romano Artioli purchased the brand in 1987 and revitalized the company. Volkswagen then took over in the late 90s to ensure Bugatti would continue as a company.

These days Bugatti is regarded as one of, if not the most luxury car brand in the world. Not only are the cars high performance, but incredibly expensive. There’s a reason why rappers always reference them in their songs. Having a Bugatti is a symbol of status. The most widely seen Bugatti is the Chiron, a two-door, mid-engined masterpiece with all the bells and whistles. Along with the Chiron, Bugatti is always releasing one-off or limited edition models that come with the latest tech to enhance your driving experience.

8. Lexus

Lexus

The first Japanese car company on this list is also one of the most tech-focused. Lexus has always been ahead of the game when it comes to the driver experience, becoming one of the first luxury car brands to introduce premium audio systems in their cars. Their cars also have some of the best safety features, something Lexus prides itself on.

The company’s line-up of vehicles is impressive, catering to everyone from the single tech bros with the sporty Lexus LC to rich families with lots of kids with the practical but still luxurious Lexus GX II. Whatever Lexus you decide to choose (it’s hard to go past the Lexus IS), just know that you are getting a smooth driving experience like no other.

9. Ferrari

The-10-Best-Ferraris-Of-All-Time

The Prancing Horse is one of the most recognizable logos in the world. It’s a fitting reminder of how great Ferrari is. The Italian manufacturer started by Enzo Ferrari has been getting it done for over 80 years. Over that time Ferrari has built some of the fastest and most luxurious cars ever to hit the road. Not only are the specs top of the line, but cars come with luxury interiors and all the modern gadgets that make sportscars so fun to drive.

Although Ferrari has always been associated with fast cars, no thanks to its participation in the F1, the brand caters to a wider range of people these days. They offer the usual selection of sports cars, but also luxury sedans and SUVs. The only downside is the cost. Only those with six digits in their bank account can afford a Ferrari. But if you have ever had the chance to sit behind the wheel of one of these beauties, you understand why they are so convented by motor lovers.

10. Rolls-Royce

Rolls-Royce

Alongside Aston Martin, Rolls-Royce is the height of luxury British automobile manufacturing. The brand has gone through a number of different owners and company changes over the years but remains a leader in the luxury car market. Loved by everyone from rappers to movie stars, the current line-up of Rolls-Royce vehicles is to die for. These beefy, aggressive-looking powerful motors combine high performance with modern luxuries to create the ultimate driving experience.

The three main models are the Rolls-Royce Ghost, a four-door sedan, the Rolls-Royce Wraith, a sporty couple, and the Cullinan, a five-door SUV beast. Rolls-Royce also releases a variety of limited edition vehicles and offer plenty of customizable options for prospective buyers when it comes to interiors and extra features. This way you can get a car that suits your needs, both functionally and performance-wise.

11. Audi

Audi

Audi might not be the name that comes to mind when you think of luxury car brands, but the automaker has always been at the forefront of creating affluent vehicles. Along with BMW and Mercedes-Benz, the German brand is one of Europe’s best-selling luxury car manufacturers. It is currently controlled by the Volkswagen Group, which owns many of the major European car manufacturers building luxury vehicles. The cars are easy to drive, have eye-catching designs, and best of all, won’t cost you an arm and a leg.

Audi produces luxury cars that fall somewhere between a standard high-end car and a top-of-the-range sports car. There is a wide range of Audis to choose from, with the Audi R8 convertible coupe, Audi Q5 compact sedan, and Audi A8 luxury sedan just three of the brand’s flagship motors. If you’re after something with a little more speed, check out the Audi S and RS models. These aesthetically pleasing cars are part of Audi’s high-performance division and are for those with a little more money who want more power and speed in their luxury car.

12. Jaguar

Jaguar

Similar to some of the other luxury car brands on this list, Jaguar has gone through a number of owners over the years. Despite this, the company has continued to produce incredible luxury cars that tick all the boxes. The Jags of yesteryear are classic sports cars with a regal appeal, and while the contemporary versions are quite different, they still retain an elegance about them.

Jaguar sells a number of sedans and SUVs that combine sleek designs, powerful engines, and modern tech. For those wanting a little more speed, the Jaguar R and R-S/SVR models provide exactly that, although you’ll be forking out a few more dollars for those models. For the environmentally conscious, the new Jaguar I-Pace is the one for you. This all-electric SUV is one of the best on the market and was given a ringing endorsement by Top Gear who declared the I-Pace, “A rapid, desirable, good-looking car that happens to be powered by electricity.”

13. Acura

The luxury and high-performance division of Honda is much more impressive than you might think. Based primarily in North America, Honda has only been making luxury vehicles under the Acura banner for three decades, but it has made an impressive impact on the luxury car market. It might surprise you to know that Acura is one of the best-selling luxury vehicles in the USA. This is no doubt thanks to the redesign of the cars during the mid-00s.

Acura’s line of sedans and SUVs might not have the distinct look of a Rolls-Royce or Ferrari, but they more than make up for this in other areas. The Acura TLX for example comes with top-of-the-line safety features,  Apple CarPlay and Android Auto support, and a new turbocharged 3.0-liter DOHC V6 engine. For those that really want something fast, the NSX is for you. This is Acura’s flagship model. With an aerodynamic body made from aluminum and ultra-high strength steel and a 3.5 L twin-turbocharged V6 engine and three electric motors under the hood, this car can really go.

14. Maserati

Maserati is a brand synonymous with luxury. This Italian company based in Modena is all about powerful high-performance automobiles. Recognizable thanks to the large exhausts and trident logo, Maserati has a rich history of developing attractive sports cars that are ideal for driving to work or road tripping in the country.

Powered by Ferrari engines, it is no wonder Maseratis deliver when it comes to speed and traction. There are currently four main models, the Quattroporte (full-size saloon), the Ghibli (executive saloon), the Levante (mid-size SUV), and the MC20 (two-door luxury sports car). The MC20 model won the ‘Best of the Best’ prize at the highly acclaimed 2021 Red Dot Awards, underlying Maserati’s standing in the luxury market.

With the Grecale (five-door compact SUV) and GranTurismo (grand tourer) on the horizon, as well as electric versions of all current models, it’s safe to say Maserati is cementing itself as one of the top luxury car brands.

15. Cadillac

For over 100 years Cadillac has been America’s favorite constructor of muscle cars. During the 70s the company began reaching its first peak, with the Fleetwood and Eldorado models outdoing the competition and making Cadillac one of the most desired luxury muscle cars. The DeVille became the success of the 90s before the company changed direction in the 00s with a new philosophy. As detailed by The New York Times, this new ideology “incorporates sharp, sheer forms and crisp edges—a form vocabulary that expresses bold, high-technology design and invokes the technology used to design it.”

The new range of Cadillacs comprises sedans and SUVs, with the Cadillac Escalade the best known. Driven by the rich and famous, the Escalade is available in a number of different packages that allow you to pick the interior and add various features. They are also going electric, with the Cadillac Lyriq the American brands foray into this new type of motor.
